During a study of maps introduce students to the use of road maps. This resource provides an engaging Social Studies project. There are two main activities in this resource plus extension activities. The first activity is a set of twelve task cards to practice reading a road map. The second activity is for students to create a road map of their own. Then students will write their own directions using cardinal and intermediate directions and their map to guide a delivery truck in its stops.
Included are all the directions, example project, color task cards, two different maps for activities, paper to write directions, answer sheet, answer key and rubric.
