Come along on a fun virtual adventure as students practice different forms of writing, geography skills, computer and internet technology skills, math skills, public speaking, creativity, and art.
Make this a unit or spread it out over an entire school year as your students’ imaginations take them from one attraction to the next all across the United States (or any other country). Use the assigned tasks to meet Common Core Standards from your grade level—strategically choosing them in a timely manner—or open up a big world of CHOICE to motivate students.
In this activity, students travel to tourist attractions via the internet, read about, map, and write a summary about the attraction . . . and then complete a written, artistic, or creative response. Their travels are documented and collected on their very own key ring—complete with a key and keychain. The road trip adventure is truly a cross-curricular adventure.
