Close Reading: This passage can be used on its own as a worksheet or laminated and put into a center. Students can go back into the page and underline where they found their answers to show comprehension.

Vocabulary Page: Option #1 cut out an laminate two sets of cards and have a center for matching the term to their correct definition. Option #2 Print each student a vocab sheet and have them cut out and paste each into a social studies notebook or journal.

Task Cards: Print out cards and laminate for durability. Place around the room for students to walk around to and fill record their answers on the Student recording sheet. You can also use them close to TEST time for review.

Write All About It: Encourage literacy across the curriculum with this activity. Students write about historical happenings in their own words to not only increase their writing skills, but to also encourage their retention and understanding of the historical event. Students should use their knowledge about the Boston Massacre to write a letter to Benjamin Franklin.
