Product Description
This is a wonderful activity to engage even the most reluctant reader of short stories! Begin by first questioning your class about novels, short stories, fractured fairy tales, and movies by the original and much-loved children’s author, Roald Dahl. You have your class attention immediately! I have yet to find a student who hasn’t seen, read, or related to either heroes or heroines such as James, Matilda, Charlie, Danny, George, etc. And, if the heroes aren’t appealing to your cast of characters in your class, then the villains will be! Roald Dahl is also the author of some equally macabre short stories for adults. This activity, great for kids grades 6-12, is a “story prediction” and then comparing and contrasting students’ story guesses with Dahl’s own creation. Guaranteed to hold ALL of your students’ captive and get them writing and working without even realizing they are doing something, cough…cough…academic. Have fun! Rockermom
