In this product is everything you will need for a successful 1920's era project for your students! I used this project to teach my students about the 1920's era from a research format, though I plan to use it in the future for a pre-reading activity before reading The Great Gatsby. Each student will get to select a topic that is most interesting to them. Some options are the Economic Boom and Stock Market Crash, The Great Depression, Flappers and Women's Rights, WW1 impact, Film Industry and Celebrity Worship, Flights, Fashion, Immigration, and more (check out the product preview)! Once they choose their topic, they need to focus on an exact category to research (sub-categories are provided- for example- Fashion --> Flappers and Women's Rights). Students will then create a thesis statement, three main points, and follow the guideline to find pictures with captions, an aligning literary text (if you are reading the Great Gatsby, you can ask students to find an excerpt that stands out to them or powerful quote to analyze), an important historical figure (F. Scott Fitzgerald if you're reading The Great Gatsby), and more! They will present this information on a poster or create their own documentary. In case you want to change anything to fit your classroom, I added the editable version.
If you need this editable version and wish to use the same fonts as I did, go to Hello Literary on TPT and download the free fonts "Hello Fonts." I used "Hello Kelly" and "Hello Boomerang."
I hope your students enjoy this rigorous project about the 1920's!
