The problem in putting together educational materials for Robert Mapplethorpe is the inclusion of his explicit photos. My solution to this was to make two shows. One show includes the full range of his photographs including the explicit (260 slides). The other show contains no explicit photographs. (216 slides)
This is especially important because some teachers have adult age students whereas others have underage students. This approach gives you a presentation for each group. The preview given here is 30 slides from the underage version, the non-explicit version. (I don't think this site is the right setting for posting the explicit.) Included in both shows is full coverage of the obscenity trial concerning the Mapplethorpe show, "The Perfect Moment." That is how both shows conclude.
THE MANY SLIDES INCLUDED IN THE PREVIEW ARE YOUR BEST INDICATION OF QUALITY.
