1) Author Study Booklet: Students create a booklet about the author to serve as a keepsake memory.
2) Author's Fingerprints: Print and display these signs to track the author's fingerprints as you discover them with your students. Perfect for using on an author's showcase bulletin board!
3) Story Quests: Story quests for students to use with any Robert Munsch book. These quests work great as partner activities, early finisher work, or center tasks!
4) Stephanie's Ponytail Activities: After reading Stephanie's Ponytail, students will discuss and record the Author's Message and how it applies to their own lives in this activity. Also includes pattern for creating a display and a bonus questioning activity!
5) Mortimer Activities: After reading Mortimer, students will explore onomatopoeia and make a music note craftivity to remind them that onomatopoeia is sound.
6) Purple, Green and Yellow Activities: After reading Purple, Green and Yellow, students will explore symmetry with their own markers by printing off a black and white photo of each student and letting them color themselves to create a symmetrical design! Students will also explore character traits of Brigid and practice finding proof from the text to support each trait in this activity.
7) Moira's Birthday Activities: After reading Moira's Birthday, students will visualize using clues from the last page of story about what will happen at the next birthday party. Students will then use these vivid images to create an invitation. Students will also use the provided recording page to practice identifying how the character responded to challenges in this activity.
8) The Paper Bag Princess Activities: After reading The Paper Bag Princess, students will get $1.00 to purchase materials to make their own paper bag princess (or prince). Students will also summarize the beginning, middle, and end of the story to glue to the back of their paper bag puppet in this activity.
9) More Pies! Activities: After reading More Pies!, students will create their own PIE to predict, invent, and entertain others with a sequel to this story! Students will also practice identifying the author's message independently in this activity.
10) Angela's Airplane Activities: After reading Angela's Airplane, students will discuss alliteration and think of something they own that alliterates with their names and expand it to a sentence. Students will also create a flipbook for describing the beginning, middle, and end of the story in this activity.
11)Mmm, Cookies! Activities: After reading Mmm...Cookies! students will compare and contrast this story to another Robert Munsch story. Students will also write their own "world's best cookie recipe" in this activity!
12) Letters to Munsch: Students will write letters to Robert Munsch in this activity!
