Robot domination reaches a fevered pitch in a Coordinate Plane Robot Skirmish! If you have are a robotics champion or coordinate plane enthusiast in your class, it's time to grab them with a series of challenges! This is based on my popular Vector Advanced Math version of this concept!
Turn your class into a Battle Zone that will keep students talking for days. Students will use coordinates to program robots through a series of challenges and obstacles.
In this 17 page document you will be given a mapping to the Content Standards, an outline for how to implement the project, handout resources for students to use, and an answer key. In all it is three different assignments --
-- In “Coordinate Driving Practice”—Students will be introduced to robot course obstacles. Students will need to navigate courses, write ordered pairs, describe translations and calculate distance.
-- In “Coordinate Robot Skirmish” students will play a head to head game of translation practice. Each student will try to maneuver a robot into one of their “Win Zones”.
-- In “Robot Gladiators” students must navigate three battle areas with their robot. Directed by coordinates, describing their translations and calculating their distances, students must pass the obstacles.
EVERYTHING IS ALIGNED TO THE COMMON CORE! YAY!
