This project was created to help celebrate National Robotics Week (April 5-13, 2014) in my robotics classroom. Georgia Tech University has created trading cards over the past three years for this event. My students complete research on one robot of their choice and present their information to classmates in order for us to learn about as many different types of robots that exist as possible. I felt the trading card aspect would help motivate students to complete their research and final project in a fun and easy manner. Students use the Questions to Ponder to conduct their research.
The trading card template was created using PowerPoint and is meant to be completed using this program. If students do not have access to this program, the pictures and directives can be removed and then printed for students to complete by hand, while pictures of robots can be glued in place of included graphics. All background colors can be changed as well.
