Product Description
Teaching about Rocks can get dull especially when it comes to multiple choice questions, and route memorization. This Classroom Break out makes practicing the concepts you've been teaching with the rock cycle fun! Students love doing these activities and get the team work and practice they need before an assessment or end of unit. (I use this with fifth grade gifted and talented, it could definitely be used in a middle school classroom).

For this Break Out you WILL NEED:
-Five Lock Boxes or Cardboard Shoeboxes
-Five Locks (Four combination, preferably resettable)
-These Clues (Cut and Placed in the Correct Location)
-Masking Tape

In this Break Out the Following Concepts are Covered:
-Types of Rock
-Rock formation Processes
-Layers of the Earth
-Pangaea
-The Law of Superposition (Earth Layers with Fossils)
-Tectonic Plate Movement
-Weathering and Erosion
-Dichotomous Key Rock Identification
-Rock Characteristics
