This is an culminating activity for an earth science unit on rocks and the rock cycle. This is a very engaging activity that the students really enjoy. There are many project options for students to choose from for differentiation still requiring many of the same rubric guidelines for a summative assessment on the three rock types, examples of each type, accurate presentation of the rock cycle with labeling and arrows, and weathering processes. Students practice researching skills and are required to create their own bibliography. Lastly, they add their own creative ideas for an unique touch that they enjoy and that turn out awesome!
