Ever demonstrated the rock cycle using crayons? (If not, be sure to check it out on Pinterest- it's a super way to demonstrate how rocks change and is appropriate for many grade levels.) Here is a great, step by step worksheet to supplement the activity guide students through the process of recreating the rock cycle. I originally created the handout for a seventh grade class, but it could be adapted for many ages. Along with the crayon demonstration were real examples of each type of rock for students to compare with. Allow your students to enjoy watching "rocks" transform before their eyes, while rooting this knowledge in "real science!"
