This earth science lesson includes the following:
A short informational reading on the Rock Cycle followed by a fill in the blank diagram that can be used in an Interactive Science Notebook. Two forms of Cornell notes, guided and blank, for differentiated instructions. And an assessment that follows the guided reading activity.
This is a student guided lesson that can be easily assigned for homework and is intended to be used along with an interactive notebook. The short assessment is designed for quick grading and uses the same language from the article.
Note: Before this lesson students should have a concept of the layers of the earth. The article mentions but does not go into detail the crust, magma, and volcanic activity.
