This bundle includes an NC 2015 Updated Standards aligned lesson for the introduction of the rock cycle (6.E.2.2). Students will explore rock samples, learn about rock classification, and be introduced to the processes that create, destroy, and mold rocks. This lesson comes complete with an activator, mini-lab exploration (you must provide your own igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rock samples-- can be subbed for pictures), guided notes, and online practice with use of technology. A link to Nearpod.com is also included for use at teacher discretion.
This day is fun, diverse learning for students! They are able to engage with classmates, independently, and make sound hypotheses backed by observations about rocks and their characteristics.
