Hands on student centered experiment to learn about the rock cycle. Students will be focusing their experiments on chemical weathering to see how temperature affects how quickly an alka seltzer will dissolve. Students will come up with 4 tests to determine how temperature affects the rate of dissolution.
Students write scientific arguments with Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning to explain how climate affects the rate of weathering. The resource includes a presentation to guide students through the activity and a focused reading to help explain the science concepts while writing their arguments.
