This project is a fun, easy project to use during a unit on the Rock Cycle. Students will create a 'recipe book' and write instructions for how to make igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. This project allows your students to be creative in thinking about how they would take a rock and transform it into a rock of a different type. Having them write this recipe book really makes the material stick!
-Three main rock types: Igneous, Sedimentary, Metamorphic
-Rock Cycle: The process for how each type of rock is formed from other rock
-Vocabulary: igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic, sediments, heat, pressure, magma
-One four-page booklet per student
-Coloring utensils (crayons, colored pencils or markers)
