Students learn about the different types of rocks and build their descriptive language by playing this game!
There are many options you can use with these cards:
1.) Students can play traditional memory, where they turn all the cards over, taking turns flipping them and keeping the cards they match.
2.) Students can play "go fish!" and ask the other student for the cards they are trying to collect, with a pile in the center.
3.) Students can split the deck in half, with one student describing to the other the physical properties of a rock and the other student trying to guess which rock they are describing.
This activity lines up nicely with a rock unit or physical properties of matter unit.
