Rock painting/ hiding was huge with our kiddos this summer! Use this rock painting/ hiding as a get-to-know-you activity to start back to school. Students write a paragraph introducing themselves, and then paint a rock with a picture clue that matches their paragraph. Hide the rocks, and students find another person's rock. Then, each student reads his/her paragraph to the class and the others listen for evidence to figure out whose rock they have. Practice writing, public speaking skills, attentive listening, and responding with evidence!
