This word game is based on the rock, paper, scissors hand game. The children love it!
This is a long vowel word game to use in stations or small group. I have used words with 2 vowels together. I included some cvc words so that the children have to apply the 2 vowel together rule.
The children will draw a word card and read it. After each child has read their word, they will each draw a card from the rock, paper, scissor, wild card pile. Before starting the game the children will be paired up for this draw. Each pair of children will compare their special cards to see who wins the pair of cards. Rock beats scissors, scissors beat paper, and paper beats rock. There is also a wild card. The child with the most cards after all have been drawn is the winner.
