This fun activity gets kids interested in short research and music with video links to fun songs. Kids show that they know how to do RACES by voicing their opinions which they can back up with reasonable facts that are simple to research.
I used this sheet as a grade recovery project after a disastrous common assessment. It helped the kids a lot to come to a one hour bootcamp (using my "RACES one sheet" as the only handout) and then taking this set of three questions home with them to work on and then turn in.
Skills: Short term research, R.A.C.E.S. paragraph construction,
Goals: show mastery of constructing a meaningful response to a question using the R.A.C.E.S. paragraph format and a limited amount of research.
Directions: Research the following musical pieces and then construction a R.A.C.E.S. response using that research that fully answers the thought provoking questions asked.
