I created rocket-themed bookmarks to better prepare your students for their upcoming reading tests. These would work well with any kind of passages, test preps, assessments, etc.
One thing that I have realized while teaching a testing grade is that students may be very fluent when they read and they may even be able to retell the story or answer comprehension questions like those seen on AR. But the question is, can they answer test questions related to that passage?
I have really had to teach my children how to look for clues in the questions and this bookmark is a great reminder to do that BEFORE reading the passage.
I made enough of these to use at my small group table and have even had the kids turn them horizontally while they read to better help them focus and stay on track with their reading.
I have included a front cover that says "Rocket Reading Strategies" with a picture of a rocket and a second page that includes the strategies. There are three bookmarks per page.
Print them front and back using card stock, laminate, and then you will have a great reminder of how to be successful on a test every time!
