Want a fun, new, engaging way to help reinforce and teach time telling to your little ones?! Look no further! I created this pack for my second graders this year to have more fun activities... I find teaching time boring and needed to spice it up. Not to mention that I HATE CORRECTING the papers!
Meet my newest packet! There are 7 different activities (at least 2 per skill: telling time to the hour and half hour, quarter hours, and five minute intervals mixed with AM/PM understanding) that require kids to read time, and self correct in such a fun way-that it makes you correcting the paper even simpler, but my explanation may not. lol :) Oh, and the theme is "rockin around the clock" so it can be used at ANY time of year! You can even use it as review throughout the year to give students a break from other things.
How? You may ask. Well, students will either write digital times to match analog clocks or draw hands on their analog clocks to match the digital times on recording sheets. YOU will already have the small cards hanging around the room, which have the answers on. Students will search the room to find their answer and will write the corresponding letter on their paper. The letters will answer the riddle that is asked at the top of the page (all have to do with time telling).
My kids had an absolute blast with these and really learned their telling time skills well. They were begging to do more-but I had to move on, and ran out of time to make more. hehe.
Also, I included a memory match game for hour/half hour; quarter hours; and five minute intervals which students will match the analog clock to the digital time.
There is also 2 extra practice worksheets per skill too that can be used as extra practice, review, homework or even as an assessment!
This could be used as a review in third grade and as an extension in first grade!
