In Kinder students need to learn how rocks break down over time. I have a create a little flow chart to assist with "organizing" their knowledge. The flow chart consists of four parts - boulder, stones, pebbles and sand. The pictures on the flow chart can be represented by student drawings, paper cutouts, students ripping pieces of construction paper (my personal favorite method), glitter for sand (also a favorite), etc. The flow chart makes a quick, hands on science exploration activity for students that isn't labor intensive on the teachers part. Hooray! For more "Rocks" unit ideas, check out my TPT store!
