Rocks and Geodes will help your preschool or kindergarten students learn, understand, and practice using the terms used when talking about rocks, minerals, and geodes. It also will provide you with resources to make your unit come to life. By integrating science and non-fiction texts into your daily lessons, you not only create an enthusiasm in your students, but you can create the "hook" you need to engage even the most reluctant learners.
This packet includes many resources including: 3 part cards, (nomenclature), vocabulary pictures (great for ELL students), center activities, art projects, craft ideas, STEM/STEAM activities, anchor charts, recording pages, reading passages, fully written out 5-E lesson plans, math, language, writing, and science activities and more!
Students will learn and use these vocabulary words:
rocks, minerals, sedimentary rocks, metamorphic rocks, igneous rocks, volcano, lava, amethyst, quartz, crystal, agate, geode, layers, cairns, texture, luster, color, hardness, living, nonliving, and more!
