This fun-filled lesson encourages students to explore the difference between rocks and minerals. Students will compare and contrast two photographs (actual pictures) of a rock and mineral. From there students will read about the differences between rocks and minerals and gain a working definition for each. Included is an open ended Venn diagram where students can record key findings from the reading passage as well as a cut and paste sort. This is a great interactive lesson that really breaks down the basics of each specimen.
