VOLUNTEER'S MANUAL + STUDENT'S BOOK + Powerpoint Presentations

Rockwall Survival English for Adults has been designed to help non-English-speaking adults through their first few months of immersion in an English-speaking community, giving them key words, phrases, and structures that they can grab onto as they scale the wall of English confronting them. These contact points make it easier for adults to stretch their minds and ears to reach more and more of the features of English surrounding them in their interaction with English-speaking members of their community; in addition, this survival knowledge helps students easily transition into leveled English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programs in the future.
The program can be used in a classroom with or without technology and can be carried out by ESOL instructors or trained volunteers working with non-English-speaking parents in schools or recent immigrants in non-profit organizations.
The Rockwall Survival English for Adults Levels 1 and 2 Volunteer’s Manual guides volunteer English teachers in presenting Survival English lessons in an effective, efficient way that requires no lesson planning and minimal searching for supplementary materials. Powerpoint Presentations are included to support the Lessons in Levels 1 and 2 of the program.
The Rockwall Survival English for Adults Levels 1 and 2 Student’s Book provides note-taking space, visual material, and activities for adult learners to create their own personal record of their new English knowledge.
