Rodar una palabra is an independent center activity for your bilingual kindergarten students. These pages include all of the high frequency words for Calle de la lectura for Kinders, but could easily be used with any reading program.
Setting up the Center
Pair these sheets with one die per student for fun fluency practice! You can make multiple copies of the sheets or put them in a plastic pocket to be used multiple times with a dry erase marker. The students roll a die: the number they end up with is the word they write. They continue until all the word columns are filled up.
Each set of words is offered with three levels of support: this is great for differentiation and meeting all students’ needs.
The packet includes three levels of independent worksheets:
• Level 1 – Traceable letters for each word as the student completes the center.
• Level 2 – Traceable letters for the first three rounds of each word; the student will have to write the word without lettering support for the rest of the center.
• Level 3 – No traceable letters; the student writes the words
with no lettering support for all rounds of the center.
For those using this activity along with Calle de la lectura, the units are specified at the bottom of each sheet.
