Roll, say keep is a fun phonics game students can play at centers or teacher-led small groups. Place the stack of cards on the table and place a card, face up, on each spot on the game mat. Students roll a die and say the word that is on that place. If they say it right, they get to keep it. If they say it incorrectly, play continues to the next player. If students pull a rainbow card, they place all their cards back in the stack.
You can choose to use all the cards, or target a specific sound. I personally like to print the different sets (l-blends, s-blends, r-blends, digraphs) on separate colors and store.
