I based this off of the Roll & Read games that I’ve made and seen used in classrooms. If it works with reading groups, why not math small groups?
There is a board for each set of addition facts 0 - 10, plus a board for doubles facts and a board for near-doubles facts. You can have each student using a different board of math facts, or you can run multiple copies of one fact board for every student in the group to use. It’s up to you!
All you need is a dice (we call them “random number generator cubes” at my school) and a game board for each student in the group and you’re ready to play/review! The kids think they’re playing a fun game, while you know they’re really just mastering their math facts in a fun way that is unlike the “Drill and Kill” method that we all have used way too many times.
