Students will have fun making a pretend pizza and using math at the same time. Students will roll a 6-, 10-, or 20- sided die, depending upon skill level, and add that many pizza toppings. There is a documentation page for students to write out how many toppings they counted. (I actually had my students do this activity this year using "1 less." The second topping was 1 less than the 1st topping, the 3rd was 1 less than that, etc. It was a fun way to practice 1 less!) This activity supports whole group, small group, or independent learning, and it employs Common Core Standards.
