My students LOVE this game! Perfect for a math center.
This game uses dice and the students "build a groundhog". The students take turns rolling dice, and either recognising the roll or adding the 2 numbers together (depending on the level you chose). Each result represents a body part that needs to be cut out and pieced together then glued down. The student that gets every number and completes their groundhog first is the winner!
An optional recording sheet is attached, intentionally made only in black and white to reduce on printing costs.
2 levels of the game are included:
Level 1: Roll and Build (Dice recognition / subitising)
Level 2: Roll, Add and Build (Basic addition - Adding two dice rolls together)
How to set it up:
1) Print off the level card of your choice and laminate for durability (one per pair).
2) Print off the pieces pages of your choice – one per student (colour or black and white).
3) Grab some dice, scissors and a glue stick then you’re ready to play!
Idea: A co-worker of mine used cheap adhesive strip magnets on the back of the cut out pieces and used a tray to help keep them in place!
