This is one "job site" (station) from our Construction Day- Building to 100 resource. It can be done for the 100th day of school, in a math center, or any other time of the year. Your crew will roll a die, stack that number of cups in a tower, and record the number of cups added on the recording sheet. Their goal is to roll and build a tower of 100 cups.
The premise behind Construction Day:
The excitement begins when the students receive a note welcoming them to the 10x10 Construction Crew and requesting them to report to their job site (their classroom) in the morning. After the students arrive, "clock in" and receive their crew badge and tool belt, they will report and rotate through several "job sites" (stations). After completing the activity at their job site, students will receive a number to add to a giant 100's chart posted in the classroom as they build their way to 100. It's a fun way to celebrate 100's day or even as a review day during the school year!
