This little dice game is a fun way to introduce graphing and tally marking. Students can practice their addition facts as well.

It can help build a wider vocabulary too.

What is in this printable included: (black and white version included as well)

1. Dice

Print dice. Glue it on a piece of cardboard (easier to glue it together, it is sturdier and easier for students to roll) Cut along solid lines with a cutter knife and fold along dotted lines after going over the lines with the dull edge of the cutter (helps by folding). For extra support put some sticky tape over the edges too.

2. 10 Grid

Print and laminate page for durability. Students can make predictions before the game which animal is going to win. Students roll the dice and tick the box of the animal they rolled. The first animal with 10 ticks wins.

3. Questions

Print and laminate page for durability. (Alternatively you can print off the black and white copy for each student and they can answer the questions independently.) Students record the result of the game. Firstly they tally and then write the numeral down under the animals, then they compare the ticks the animals got. Lastly they use the number of ticks for each animal for adding the numbers together.
