Simply print the desired board, grab some dot markers or crayons and a die and you are all set. This set contains boards with two and three syllable words. My older students like games too. It is sometimes harder to find games that practice reading multisyllabic words.
Closed and silent e
Closed and silent e (includes –ive)
oi/oy and au/aw
Long o : oa/ow
Long a: ay/ai
Long e: ee/ea/ey
The boards are intentionally easy on the ink budget! I print and use them as consumable worksheets because my students love to have an opportunity to use daubers! I give each student a page on a cookie sheet or plastic place mat (enthusiastic daubers can make smears on the table under their papers!). You could also print these out on colored paper or card stock, laminate and use with bingo chips.
My students enjoy this game and it is fast enough that you can tuck it into just about any session. You can use this game in small groups where students may need practice with different types of words. Different students can use different boards and still play together. This works especially well if you are using Orton-Gillingham style reading instruction.
