Roll the dice and roll a race car to make blending CVC words fun! Here is a CVC blending activity to use in small groups or as a center activity that includes recognizing words as real or nonsense. Two more printable activities are included to help review and practice producing short vowel sounds.

- 2 Roll and Read Short Vowels Game (Awww... Snap!) - Warm up activity helps students produce short vowel sounds in preparation for the blending activity. Print for one time use or put into sheet protectors to use over and over again.

- 20 Roll and Read Blending Race Mats - Build fluency in blending CVC words. Includes 4 mats for each vowel. Use with real toy cars for the best results (but I've included some printable ones just in case)!

- 1 Roll and Read Teacher Recording Sheet - Mini-sheet to send home with students to share with parents skill students worked on.

- 2 Roll and Graph Short Vowels - Wrap up activity to review and reinforce short vowel sounds. Designed to be printed in black and white.

- Teacher Tips - Helpful printing tips, organization ideas or "how-to" so you can use it immediately.

- 3 Student Picture Directions - Easy for non-readers and beginning readers to remember what to do!
