Roll the dice game is a great tool to use during Guided Reading Groups. Can be used over and over and used with both fiction and non-fiction texts.
-Can be printed front/back laminated and kept at small group table and/or centers.
-Some questions go beyond just oral questioning. Questions with a pencil requires students (all students in small group) to write their response. Questions with a magnifying glass gives teacher the flexibility to create questions directly associated with text and requires that students find the textual evidence to answer question. I use it a lot with sequencing questions!
-Fiction sheets have an "F" in the top right corner and a star, non-fiction questions have a "NF" in the top right corner and a child reading book at top center.
