Silly Sentences are great for beginning or struggling writers. The kids have such a great time with this activity that you are sure to hear giggles and even belly laughs. Because they are having fun, kids are more likely to stay on task and finish work. Kids will learn through repetition that all sentences need a subject (the WHO) and a predicate (a WHAT). This can help kids determine (for future writing) if a sentence is complete of incomplete. Both singular and plural nouns (subjects) are used. For ESL and bilingual learners, the sentences show proper subject and verb agreement.
This packet includes:
-3 different writing papers (for the kids to record their silly sentences) that are sure to challenge all levels of writers
-40 Silly Sentence cards/pages (that can be laminated and used again and again)
