Two for one! Pre-reading webquest and post-reading theme analysis project! Tired of webquests that didn't challenge my students, I created the webquest that asks students to draw inferences, provide textual support, read informational texts and compare and contrast, paraphrase, evaluate, analyze, and emotionally react to the historical documents of the Jim Crow Era. At the end of ROTHMC, students use iPads (can be created on PC Publisher or by Hand) to research themes within the novel, citing evidence from the novel for their chosen theme and also connecting the theme to the real world of both the past and the present.
