Product Description
This is a handout that goes along with "ion" dice that I created for my students. In this learning game, students are given two cubes (pref. different colors). One cube is labeled with cations, the other is labeled with anions. The students roll the dice, record their data in the handout, then create the formula + name using their periodic table. Students really enjoy this game, especially rolling the dice and collaborating on how to write the formula + name (ie, NaCl - Sodium Chloide).

I made my dice using cardstock paper + a free online cube template. I have seen the foam dice at Dollar General, which would have been a lot easier to make! Simply use a Sharpie to write the cation/anion (ie. Na+ or Cl-) on the sides.

When we learn about polyatomic ions, I include those on the cubes as well.
