When I teach imagery to my students, I begin with the children's story--Roller Coaster by Marla Frazee. I read the book to the students and use this handout to get students to brainstorm images. Students don't have to write about roller coasters. Instead, I tell them to write about an event or experience that is scary or exciting. I have them use this handout to begin their brainstorming. Then, they put the ideas together into a paragraph.
