This game includes all upper- and lowercase letters! WOW!
This is a wonderful letter naming game for center time. Each child should have a personal game board to use and mark on. A player rolls a die, determines the number rolled, then looks at that number’s column on the game board. For instance, if s/he rolls a 4, then s/he will look at column 4 and choose ONE and only one letter to read aloud. All other players MUST hear the other player read the letter correctly. If they approve, the player puts a check in that letter’s box. If it’s read incorrectly, NO check is marked and the next player rolls and reads. Play continues around the circle from player to player until someone COMPLETELY fills ONE column. It’s a fun, fast-paced game that gets my little learners EXCITED to practice their letters.
OPTIONAL: You can also make an additional rule that after someone fills a column, then the goal is to completely fill 2, 3, or maybe even ALL of them! I’ve also had my student’s name the sound instead of the letter’s name, and that adds a whole other level of difficulty! The possibilities are ENDLESS and really engaging!
Have fun! ☺
