Perfect as a reading center!
These student-centered response activities allow the students to work independently in order to show what they learned from recently read text.
Students will use skills such as recognizing fact/opinion, identifying main idea, supporting details, text features, and organizational patterns, making text-to-text, text-to-world, and text-to-self comparisons, creating charts and graphs, understanding context clues to learn new vocabulary, and analyzing passages.
Each page is tiered in order to fit the learning needs of your students. However, there is certainly room for flexibility in utilizing the 3 pages. You may wish to make them all available and allow students to choose their own level of challenge.
A student response page is also provided on which students can record their answers as they complete each roll of the die.
The only materials required to implement this activity are copies of the pages (laminated for durability and re-use) and a die.
