This is a game to help the students practice -ed and -ing endings with the double consonant and dropping the e. Included are the directions sheet, the sheet with the practice words and the answer key. I included both a black and white as well as a color version. Only materials not provided are dice and lined paper for the students to practice.
The student would pick up a card and roll the dice. For an odd number, he/she would make the word on the card past tense (-ed) and for an even number, make the word present tense (-ing). He/she would then write a sentence using the new word. I have a few exception words included, like swim when it gets changed to swam, rather than swimmed. Exception words are indicated by ** which gives a hint to the student that something is special about that word. This game could easily be for one student at a time or for partner/group work, depending on what you're wanting for the day. Answer key is provided for easy checking.
