A PowerPoint presentation designed to give an overview of the major Roman emperors (Caesar, Augustus, Trajan, Diocletian and Constantine) and the fall of Rome in one day. My presentations are very heavy on animations and visuals but low on written words. It is designed to accompany a lecture presentation by the teacher with only the most important information on screen for students to write. This is my latest presentation and uses all of the techniques I've learned in 10 years of building PowerPoints. It is, I can safely say, not like any you've used or seen before.
To assist lower-level students written text is color-coded indicating to students which material should be copied and which should be paraphrased. There are also two "Brain Snacks" within the presentation which are mini activities build on the 10-2-2 model of comprehension that allow students to shift gears and interact with the lecture as opposed to staying as passive learners for 45 minutes.
This product, along with my entire curriculum is available free with more plans, calendars and accompanying activities at www.mrroughton.com.
