PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Students often think of slavery only as it relates to the American Civil War. Expand their understanding of the world by introducing them to slavery in Rome during 160 BC. Cato the Elder wrote a book on farming in Rome and gave a number of suggestions on what to provide for slaves. The implications will sound eerily familiar to 1800s America.
