This is a great activity to assign over Winter/Spring Break or as "backgroud music" to other things your class is studying.
Included are 10 poems from the Romantic Literary Era as well as EXPLICIT instructions on what to do with each of the poems.
The students will annotate each poem, provide a 2-3 sentence summary, and then choose their favorite poem to write a rhetorcial analysis over focusing on the effect and purpsoe of the chosen poetic/literary devices. I am giving this to my students over a break, therefore they have one week to complete it.
This is great for AP Juniors and AP Seniors, but can also be used in Pre-AP, Honors, and On-Level courses.
It also includes an optional *extra credit* assignment.
