Product Description
The years 1054 marked a schism between the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches that lasted until the 20th century. It was also on the eve of the Crusades where Europe came into closer contact with the East that it had since the days of the Roman Empire. It is important for students to understand the great contrasts that existed between these two Christian civilizations. The year 1054 is an excellent demarcation point because it shows that the two forms of Christianity had reached the point of no return.
