Product Description
Class will begin with you listing six individuals central to ancient Rome: Pompey, Octavian, Mark Antony, Cicero, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra; only one of the six survives (be creative...you can do your introduction with the “Halloween” movie playing in the background, you can set it up as Dateline NBC...have some fun with it). Students will spend some of the class rotating through the six stations looking for clues and making inferences to determine who lived, who died and why the events played out the way they did. At the end, students will construct a story of what they believe happened and how they can defend that story as accurate.

History can be very interesting when we realize that there are reasons certain events happen, and that storylines run through the events to drive the narrative. Students will need to use their inferencing and reasoning skills as they rely on clues from the past to construct a sensible story about what they feel happened to the individuals involved.
