This writing activity for Romeo & Juliet is exciting and relevant-- my 9th graders had a blast with this! Before beginning the assignment, I recommend projecting or reading from actual newspapers/magazines advice columns, so that the students get a feel for the tone and structure of an advice column (they are also fun to read, and a nice little break from Shakespeare). This activity includes instructions and a rubric, and is ready to print and give to the students. Highly recommend!!! I've done it every year with all of my classes since the first time I tried it out.
