The Romeo and Juliet Lit. Analysis Exercises &Test Assessments are a set of close reading exercise for you to practice with your students and then use as formal quiz and test assessments.
Assessments on page 1 require that students identify the speaker of the quote, and literary devices used in the quote.Next, in two sentence students must explain the context of the quote and how the literary devices work within it (a sample is provided for each category).
Assessments on page 2 require that students identify the speaker, and explain which of the three types of irony are used with each quote.
Assessments on page 3 requires that students need to identify the speaker and explain how the quote forecasts a future event in the play. Two blank boxes are provided for either the educator or students to find two more quotes to use.
On page 4 are three essay prompts with an outline for students to help them write an essay for a test or take home assessment.
